LOCAL AMENITIES

BUDAPEST

There are several small shops and supermarkets very close to the building, stocking good selections of food, drink, and domestic items. Access to public transport is very convenient: a journey by metro (line M3) from Nagyvárad tér to Deák Ferenc tér
(where the 3 metro lines crosses)
in the centre of downtown Pest is only five stops and takes around 10 minutes, with trains leaving no more than 5 minutes apart. Excellent restaurants can be found nearby, within one or two metro stops towards the centre of the city. For example, the highly recommended Kaltenberg restaurant is close to the Corvin-negyed metro station
(two stops from Nagyvárad tér).

Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities
in central Europe, with a rich architectural heritage. Its turbulent history has produced
a capital city that is fascinating to explore.
The streets, boulevards, parks, and local attractions are ideal for short breaks or longer holidays. Transport around the city is easy, cheap, and efficient, whether by metro, tram, bus, funicular, or ferry. There are many bars and restaurants packed within the downtown area, and all styles of food and drink can be found at very reasonable prices. English is spoken almost universally within the downtown area, and the atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed. As well as the many historical sights and attractions, there are opportunities for relaxation, whether by a stroll along the banks of the Danube,
or a visit to Margaret Island with its network
of paths and recreational facilities.
